Use the M470 within a Glove Box
Accessory designed to enable the SCV 470 control unit to be used outside a glove box with the scanning head and associated devices inside
The M470 Glove Box Cable Sets have been designed for use with the M470 Scanning Electrochemical Workstation. The M470 Glove Box Cable Sets allow the SCV470 control unit to remain outside of the glove box while the M470 scan head and attached devices are installed and used within the glove box.
Each M470 Glove Box Cable Set is designed to replace a single standard M470 cable. This gives users flexibility to select only those glovebox cables relevant to their needs. In total there are five different cable sets exclusive to use with the M470. Use of the M470+SP-300 configuration will require the SP-300 Ultra Low Current Glove Box Cable Set if this is to be used within the glove box.
The exact cable type will be dependent on the device to be controlled within the glove box. The following M470 Glovebox Cable Sets include a feed-through, internal cable, and an external cable: Piezo Strain Gauge, Piezo Drive, Scan Stage, 3300, SP-300. Feedthroughs are all Jaeger type with the size, and number of pins dependent on the device. Internal cables are a minimum of 1 m (device dependent) and have a connector to the relevant device on one end, and the relevant Jaeger connector on the other end. External cables are a minimum of 1 m (device dependent) with a connection to the SCV470 control unit on one end and the relevant Jaeger connector on the other end. The Electrometer cable set includes a LEMO feedthrough, and an external cable, with the electrometer connecting internally directly to the feedthrough. The external cable is 1 m with a connection to the SCV470 control unit on one end and the relevant LEMO connector on the other end.
The necessary M470 Glove Box Cable Sets will be dependent on the techniques and modules to be used within the glovebox.
The Glove Box Cable Sets for the M470 Scanning Electrochemical Workstation can be used for any application where atmospheric control through the use of a glove box is required. This includes the investigation of battery relevant systems.
