Abstract

The adaptation of conventional mixing or temperature-jump technologies to the specific requirements of time-resolved FTIR spectroscopy enables to explore protein folding/misfolding events on the millisecond to minute timescale by monitoring spectral changes in several spectral windows simultaneously. We present a description of experimental setups and representative results on different proteins, which illustrate the advantages and limitations of the FTIR approaches.
